RAHAB

Have you heard of it?

Rahab is a Christian organisation helping women and girls in brothels around Adelaide. It is run by volunteers who visit around 115 brothels a month sharing the love of God and giving the women support.

There are three types of brothels: high, medium and low class.

1. High class, has many women in upper class locations, high security, and the women are reasonably well paid.

2. Medium class is usually in a house with security but fewer workers and lower pay.

3. Low class are street workers, with no security, low pay and usually work to pay of drug addictions.

Who would have guessed this is happening in Adelaide, let alone, all around the world!

Women are not only physically abused but spiritually harmed. Most become trapped in the industry due to drug addiction, loss of self-worth and confidence to be seen in public.

However, Rahab offers these women and girls rehabilitation, English classes and opportunities to know and depend on Jesus.

There have been great stories of women coming to know the power of Jesus and the transformations in their lives have been inspiring. It's great to see God working in these women's lives when they truly seek him.

What can YOU do?
PRAY! Prayer is a powerful thing!
Please pray for God's anointing on the volunteers as they bring God's hope and love into these needy places. Please also pray for strength for the women to trust God and to make a way out of these harmful jobs. The men who enter these brothels also need prayer and strength to deal with their needs in more appropriate ways.

These are just a few points to pray for but please pray as you feel led. Your prayers work, God hears and he promises to answer! You can make a difference in many people's lives right now. So, please, use the power given to you by God to stand up for what is right!
